Amaravati, Dec 20 (GCCurrentAffairs) Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Shiva Prasada Rao has emphasised that challenges of pollution and industrial effluents can be tackled only by capitalizing on green technologies in smart cities.
The Speaker Kodela inaugurated the three day international conference on “ Green Energy Technologies for Smart Cities” at SRM University, Amaravati here on Wednesday.
Shiva Prasada Rao also appealed to academicians and other stake holders in the field of Green technologies to bring solutions for the challenges are being faced by international communities with pollution and industrial effluents.
He advocated the tree plantations on a large scale and aware the people on deforestation. He said that green coverage should be at 33 per cent. He asked the delegates attended the conference to promote solar energy systems and electrical vehicles to reduce the pollution.
Mr Rao said that Andhra Pradesh is now in forefront in adopting the Green technologies in the capital region.
He said that the AP Government has already initiated many measures to develop four cities- Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Amaravati and Tirupati as smart cities by investing about Rs 8,000 crore.
He said that the ultimate vision of AP Government is to transform Amaravati as a world Class pollution free city.
Ramachandra N Galla, Chairman, said that educational institutions have to take the lead by conducting researches for green technologies and such researches should be followed by industries.
