Due to the landslide on Konkan Railway’s tracks at Nivasar, Ratnagiri four trains were cancelled, five diverted and two terminated.
Following the landslide, Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) immediately cancelled four trains including Madgaon-Sawantwadi-Diva Passenger, Mangalore-LTT, Sawantwadi-Madgaon Passenger and Sawantwadi-Dadar, which were scheduled yesterday. The track was also closed for work.
Konkan Railway Corporation Limited’s Public Relations Officer Siddheshwar Telegu informed that the retaining wall, which was constructed to prevent landslides, collapsed at 4.05 am on Friday due to havy rains which has hit Konkan since last three days.
Five trains have been diverted which includes Kochuveli -LTT Garib Rath, Trivandrum-Nizamuddin Rajdhani, Kochuveli-Dehradun and Ernakulam-Pune, all via Margao-Londa-Miraj.
The Nizamuddin-Ernakulam Mangala is diverted via Kalyan Pune and the Diva-Sawantwadi-Madgaon train is terminated at Ratnagiri while CST-Madgaon is at Diva.
