Bengaluru: The last rites of the Union Minister of State for Railways, Suresh Angadi, who had passed away last night, will be conducted in Delhi on Thursday.
According to official sources, the attempts to bring the mortal remains to Belgavi, his home district, failed as the guidelines on COVID-19 related deaths, does not permit shifting of bodies.
The family sources said that in compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the last rites of Angadi will be performed at Dwarka crematorium in the presence of limited family members and friends.
Angadi had breathed last after battling against the COVID-19 disease at the AIIMS in New Delhi last night.
The 66-year-old BJP leader had got elected from the Belagavi Lok Sabha seat for the last four terms, consecutively and had been inducted to the Union Cabinet by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
