The event is dedicated exclusively to percussions and there will be no vocals.
Laxmanrao alias Khaprumam Parvatkar’s contribution in the field of music has been immense. Khaprumam was born in the village of Parvat-Paroda in the family known for playing Sarangi, a musical instrument.
The inaugural ceremony will be held at 10 am with Talyogi Pandit Suresh Talwadkar as the chief guest, while Sudhir Gadgil will compere the event.
Performances will begin at 10.45 am with Goa’s very own Bondo performing with his group.
At 1 pm, ‘Taal Sanvad’ will be performed by eminent Goan artistes – Pandit Tulshidas Navelkar, Ulhas Velingkar, Shantilal Mardolkar, Amar Mopkar, Gajanan Amonkar and Sachin Teli.
‘Tal Vadya Kacheri’ will be performed at 4 pm by Vidwan Anur Ananth Krishna Sharma also known as Shiu Sir and his Bangalore-based group which include compositions in Carnataki and Hindustani style.
At 6 pm ‘Dholki Jugalbandi’ will be performed by Mumbai-based artistes – Nilesh parab, Krishna Musale and Satyajit Prabhu and at 8.15 pm Taal Darshan will be presented by Taalyogi Pandit Suresh Talwalkar and his group.
On this occasion, an exhibition of Khaprumam Parvatkar’s memorabilia, belongings, news cutting and books will also be held.
