Leaders urge Delhi voters to cast vote

New Delhi, Feb 8 (GCCurrentAffairs) As the voting began for the Delhi Assembly polls at 0800 hrs on Saturday, prominent leaders urged the voters of national capital to exercise their franchise.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people, especially youth, to come out and vote in record numbers. “Today is the polling day for the Delhi Legislative Assembly…Urging the people of Delhi, especially my young friends, to vote in record numbers,” PM said in a tweet.
The polling began at 0800 hrs and will conclude at 1800 hrs in a single phase today, and the results will be out on February 11.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to twitter and appealed the voters to elect a government that is far-sighted and have strong intentions. “By giving Delhi clean air, clean drinking water and a house for every poor, only a government with far-sighted thinking and strong intentions can make it the best capital of the world. I appeal to the people of Delhi to vote to free Delhi from lies and votebank politics”, he tweeted.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appealed the women voters to take the responsibility of Delhi in their own hands, just like they take responsiblity of their home. “You must go to vote. Special appeal to all women – Just like you bear the responsibility of home, the responsibility of the country and Delhi is also on you. All of you ladies must go to vote and also take the men of your house. Make sure to discuss with men about who are the right ones to vote for,” Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president J P Nadda urged the voters to be part of the great cause of democracy. “I appeal to all the voters of Delhi to vote in greater numbers and participate in the great cause of democracy.
Your one vote is important for the unity, integrity and overall development of Delhi. Your vote will write the golden future of your Delhi. First voting, then refreshments. Jai Hind”, Nadda, too, tweeted in Hindi.
