LG accords sanction for release of grants-in-aid of Rs 1.17 cr to Pondy ULWS

Puducherry: Lt.Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Friday accorded sanction for release of Grants-in-aid of Rs.1.17 crore to Puducherry Unorganised Labourers Welfare Society (ULWS) towards welfare benefits to the employees and administrative expenses.

According to a Raj Nivas release on Saturday, she accorded approval for the proposal of the Department of Higher & Technical Education to extend the benefits of CCS (Pension) Rules,1972 to the 16 government servants presently covered under National Pension System (NPS) whose selection for appointment was finalized before 1.1.2004 but joined in Government service on or after 1.1.2004 against the vacancies occurred on or before 31.12.2003.

Dr Soundararajan also accorded approval to the proposal of the Department of Higher & Technical Education revising the upper age limit of Professor/Registrar, Officers of the Government and Deputy Registrar from 58 to 56 to become eligible to apply for the post of Registrar of the newly established Puducherry Technological University in Puducherry.
