Maha: Marathwada registers 375 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths

Aurangabad: The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 375 new cases of COVID-19 and 2 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Thursday.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Latur topped the list recording 31 new cases and single death, followed by Aurangabad with 26 cases and single death, Beed with 238 cases, Osmanabad with 50 new cases, Nanded registered 14 cases, Jalna recorded 5 cases and Parbhani and Hingoli four each cases.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 8,159 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative total number of infections in the state to 62,37,755.

The state also registered 165 fresh COVID deaths, taking Maharashtra’s death toll to 1,30,918.

Meanwhile, highest 7,839 patients recovered in the state during the same time, taking the total number of recoveries to 60,08,750.

The state’s recovery rate now stands at 96.33 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.09per cent.

At present, there are 94,745 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities added.
