Ranchi, Nov 30 (GCCurrentAffairs) The Congress party has claimed that its Mahagathbandhan comprising the JMM and the Congress will at least win 9 out of the 13 seats which went into the polls in the first phase of elections in Jharkhand.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey said that BJP will be whipped out in this phase as it was the local issues which have dominated in the elections. He said that while the alliance will win 9 seats, on 2 others it was in a direct fight while 2 others will go to other parties.
He said that the people have realised that AJSU was the B Team of the BJP and both were different sides of the same coin. He said that their game became more clear after Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed that AJSU will remain part of the alliance.
Dubey said that despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda and Gadkari campaigning for the BJP they could not stop the victory chariot of the Mahagathbandhan.
He claimed that after the performance in the first phase the party will go more strongly in the second phase where apart from Rahul Gandhi many other star campaigners including Sachin Pilot, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Manish Tiwari and Mukul Wasnik will be arriving in the state.
On the controversy surrounding Congress candidate KN Tripathi from Daltonganj who was found showing pistol in the air, he said the arm was used by him in self-defence which he later also surrendered. Dubey said that he had gone to spot after reports of booth capturing by BJP workers in Koshiyari and claimed that after detail report the party will also approach the election commission demanding for re-polls on the booths.
