Chhota Cinema, a section of the International Film Festival of India 2010, hosted by Goa based Mandovi Entertainment in collaboration with Entertainment Society of Goa will give an opportunity for amateur film makers to rub shoulders with the best in the world.
Films prepared by college students using their pocket money and even those shot on mobiles will be screened in this section. However, according to Janardhan Bhandari, MD of Mandovi Entertainment, the makers of these films are rich in talent but poor in resources.
As many as 55 films will be screened in this section which include 22 films in five-minute category, 15 in 15 minute category and 18 in 30 minutes category and most of the films are based on environment and social issues.
Special awards for best actor, best actress, best director and best editor will be presented in this category said Venancio Furtado, General Manager, ESG.
