Marathwada regions registers 238 new cases of COVID-19

Aurangabad: The eight districts of Maharashtra’s Marathwada region reported 238 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, the health authorities informed on Wednesday.

The region also recorded six deaths due from coronavirus during the same period.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed recorded 20 cases and 3 deaths, followed by Nanded with 59 new cases and a single death, Jalna 15 cases and a single death, Hingoli 3 cases and a single death, Aurangabad 60 new cases, Latur 54 cases, Osmanabad 19 cases and Parbhani 6 cases.

As per the official data, 3,162 more corona cases and 33 deaths were reported from across the state during the past 24 hours, taking the state’s cumulative tally to 19,50,173.

Meanwhile, 2,828 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 18,50,189 in the state so far.

With this, the state’s recovery rate has now risen to 94.87 per cent and the death rate stands at 2.55 per cent.

According to the health officials, so far a total of 49,728 patients have succumbed to the disease in the state and 49,067 patients are currently undergoing treatment across the state.
