Owing to his shaky position in the Nationalist Congress Party, former Tourism Minister Micky Pacheco who has announced plans to launch his own political party, is now negotiating with the JD (U).
Speaking to GoaChronicle.com, JD (U) Goa in-charge Javed Raza revealed: “Yes, Micky has approached us and we are yet to have a discussion on how JD (U) and Micky can work together.”
The JD(U) that entered the electoral fray for the first time in Goa during the last Assembly elections fared pretty badly as none of its candidates managed to secure their deposit. Worse was the fact that central office bearers of the party were caught with loads of money that was meant to be distributed to people during the elections.
Micky who has succeeded in antagonizing most political outfits in Goa, is now probably seeking to have an alliance with the national party. Besides taking pot shots at the Congress and even his own NCP leadership, he has also antagonized the BJP which he had joined earlier only to quit subsequently.
