South Goa District Magistrate G. P. Naik informed that the mine owners have given their consent to fund the Dharbandora road widening project, after the meeting with mine owners in the District Collectorate on Thursday morning.
Naik said the authorities have placed the estimates prepared by the PWD amounting to Rs. 16 crore before the mine owners to widen the 14 km Guddemol-Dharbandora Road as the heavy traffic on this road leads to congestion.
Naik further informed that the mine owners have given their consent to this proposal as it would help maintain four-lane on this busy road.
He said that the next meeting with the mine owners has been fixed later this week as the latter asked for more time to consult the office bearers of Goa Mineral Ore Exporters Association before giving the final consent for the project.
