Srinagar: A case of rape with a 16-year-old minor has come to light in the Akhnoor area of Jammu. The teenager who had gone to the shop from home to pick up goods from where a 23-year-old Neeraj Sharma, a resident of Ram Nagar Colony, Akhnoor, kidnapped her and took her to the forest where the young man held her hostage overnight and raped her.
The next day, the teenager somehow escaped from the hold of the accused and reached her house, and informed the family members about the whole case, after which the teenager’s mother lodged a complaint of abduction and rape of her daughter at Akhnoor police station.
The minor is a resident of Raje Chak village of Akhnoor and his mother told the police that on May 4, her daughter had gone from home to a shop to get some goods. The shop is about a kilometer away from his house and meanwhile accused Neeraj Sharma of kidnapped her daughter from the road.
She kept waiting for their daughter to return home. On the other hand, on May 5, her daughter came home and told her that Neeraj had forcibly taken her to the forest where he raped her. The next day she somehow escaped from Neeraj’s clutches and ran home.
Based on the complaint, the police got the girl medically examined and after the report confirmed the rape, the police registered a case of rape and Pasco Act against the accused. According to the police, the accused is being searched. He will be arrested soon.
