Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday dedicated party’s victory in CPI(M)-ruled Tripura to the BJP workers who sacrificed their lives in the state during last one year.
Addressing a gathering of party workers and senior leaders at BJP headquarters, Prime Minister said the Left reactions to the “defeat” in Tripura was “shocking” and undemocratic.
He also led the gathering to observe two-minute silence as mark of tribute to the BJP workers who lost their lives in the violence unleashed by the Left cadres.
“Sunset is imbued with red colour…and when the sun rises there is a saffron surge,” he said amid thunderous applause from the people.
Terming the victory in Tripura as unprecedented, he said the mandate is a “reflection” of people’s faith in the BJP’s ideology through the ballot.
He said the BJP government at the centre has brought ‘New Delhi’ to the doorsteps of the northeast people.
The BJP leaders and workers were able to dispel the feeling of ‘alienation’ among the people in the region.
