Modi Govt listens to all, says Javadekar urging students for calm

New Delhi, Dec 18 (GCCurrentAffairs) BJP leader and Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday said 130 crore Indians did not have any ground to fear the new Citizenship law but said the infiltrators have to be scared of it.

“Only infiltrators should be scared,” Mr Javadekar told reporters here. He said 130 crore population of India had nothing to be worried about.

Particularly students, he said, do not need to be scared of the new law.

The protest over Citizenship law has entered varsity campuses including in Delhi and other cities.

Angry protesters on Tuesday allegedly torched several motor bikes, pelted stones at police personnel and damaged school buses in capital’s Seelampur area.

He said the Modi government is sensitive and listens to everyone.

“Students should put their views forward in a peaceful manner. I appeal to everyone to maintain peace,” said Mr Javadekar, who held the portfolio of Human Resource Development ministry during PM Narendra Modi’s first tenure since 2016.
