New Delhi, Jul 5 (GCCurrentAffairs) Accusing Narendra Modi government of giving three airports to Adani Enterprises, the Congress on Thursday said that the government is selling state owned assets to its ‘select crony friends’.
“BJP government is hell bent to sell the family silver to its select crony friends. Awarding three airports to Adanis confirms that”, tweeted Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala.
“Is this the New India?”, the Congress leader asked while tagging a news report that the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal of the aviation ministry to lease out three airport projects, operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to Adani Enterprise.
“Cabinet approves proposal for leasing out of three airports viz. Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Mangaluru of Airports Authority of India through Public Private Partnership,” official spokesperson had announced in Twitter.
According to reports, Adani Enterprise had won the bid to operate six airports for a period of 50 years and the airports are Trivandrum, Guwahati, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Manglore.
Apart from approving the three on Wednesday, three more will be cleared by the Cabinet soon, the report said.
