Guruvayur, Jun 1 (GCCurrentAffairs) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Guruvayur temple on June 8 — his first ever visit to Kerala after taking oath for the second time.
This was confirmed by Guruvayur Devaswam Chairman K B Mohandas who said a communication to this effect was received from the Prime Minister’s Office on Saturday.
Mr Modi will reach the temple town by helicopter from Kochi at 1200 hrs and will spend about two hours in darshan and poojas, the Devaswam Chairman said. Special pooja and Thulabharam will be held for Mr Modi. A delegation of temple authorities is planning to meet and submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister for the development of Sree Krishan temple. He has no other official programme in Kerala.
This is the first visit of Mr Modi to Guruvayur after he was elected Prime Minister in 2014. He had visited the temple in 2008 during his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister.
