Panaji, Nov 19 (GCCurrentAffairs) Union Minister of Environment and Forest Prakash Javadekar has written to Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stating that a committee is being constituted to look into Kalasa Bhandura Project in Karnataka.
In the letter, Mr Javadekar has said, ”It is informed through your memorandum that the proposal submitted to the ministry is more than a drinking water project and thus requires to be reviewed in detail by the ministry. In this connection, a committee is being constituted to look into the issues raised in detail.”
Responding to the letter, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said he was happy that MoEF had taken due cognisance of the representation submitted by all party delegation led by him and constituted to examine the issue.
He expressed confidence that the committee would soon deliberate and safeguard Goa’s interest with a favourable decision.
