Monseratte, Godinho and Madkaikar did not attend GPCC meeting

In what is appearing to be a serious rift amongst the elected Congress MLAs and the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC), Atanasio (Babush)Monseratte, Jennifer Monseratte, Pandurang Madkaikar and Mauvin Godinho chose not to attend the GPCC meeting which was held for all its members yesterday to discuss the way forward in strengthening the party in Goa after the Assembly election debacle.

Sources close to these MLAs stated that they preferred not to attend such baseless meeting under the President Subhash Shirodkar whom they are demanding should be replaced with immediate effect, as all see his failure in controlling party affairs, as one of the main reasons for the poor show at the Assembly elections. This same group has reportedly written to the All India Congress Committee (AICC), president, Sonia Gandhi, asking for the replacement of Shirodkar and Desk-in-Charge Jagmeet Singh Brar before the Monsoon Assembly session.

Besides the MLAs, even former ministers Alexio Sequeira, Churchill Alemao, Joaquim Alemao, Filipe Neri Rodrigues, Dayanand Narvekar did not attend the GPCC meeting.
