The South Goa Sessions Court on Thursday framed charges against two other persons – Prashant Ashtekar and Prashant Juvekar – under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, Explosives Substances Act, for waging a war against the State and for criminal conspiracy under the IPC.
Both the accused who were arrested subsequently, pleaded not guilty and will now face trial along with the other four already charged in the case.
It may be recalled that the Court had earlier charged Vinay Talekar, Vinayak Patil, Dhananjay Ashtekar and Dilip Mangaonkar in the case.
While the six are facing trial, three other persons Jai Prakash alias Ana, Rudra Patil and Sarang Kulkarni are still at large.
The National Investigation Agency that probed the case had named 11 accused including the two who died in the blast – Malgonda Patil and Yogesh Naik.
The charge sheet accused Malgonda Patil, Dhananjay Ashtekar and Jai Prakash of producing gelatin sticks, detonators and other accessories for preparing the explosive devices and they were assembled at the resident of Laxmikant Naik, brother of Yogesh Naik who died in the blast.
