Morphed ‘Bikini’ image of Goa Minister takes Legal Turn

A morphed photo of a Goa’s PWD Sudin Dhavlikar in a pink swimsuit, posted on Facebook, has provoked a First Information Report (FIR), the first step in the filing of formal charges, against a man from Goa who lives in America.

The photo, which was posted on Facebook last week, has gone viral. Recently Dhavlikar generated national media ire and also strong criticism from Goans all over the globe for his declaration that bikinis should be banned on Goa’s beaches.

Other advice from the minister included  “Young girls wearing short skirts in nightclubs are a threat to the Goan culture. ..we should not allow this” and  women should stop drinking  “because it is not good for their health”.

During the ensuing outrage, the opposition Congress gifted the minister a short pink skirt

“The FIR has been filed and the case has been transferred to the Cyber Cell,” revealed a cyber-police official to GoaChronicle.com.

The complaint against Savio Almeida, a Non-Resident Indian who allegedly uploaded the picture, was filed by a resident of Goa.
