New Delhi, Nov 27 (IEBusiness) Mother Diary, a company that manufactures, markets and sells milk, milk products and other edible products, on Tuesday celebrated the ‘National Milk Day’ by commencing distribution of 98,000 glasses of milk, as part of it’s ‘one glass milk’ campaign in girls’ schools.
The campaign was held at Atal Adarsh Bengali Balika Vidyalaya, Gole Market in the national capital to commemorate the 98th birth anniversary of Dr Varghese Kurien, known as the Father of White revolution.
The birth anniversary of Dr Kurien, whose Operation Flood is the world’s largest agricultural dairy development programme that made dairy farming India’s largest self-sustaining industry and the largest rural employment provider, is celebrated as the National Milk Day.
Vinod Chopra, Senior Business Head, Milk, Mother Diary, initiated the campaign by offering a glass of milk to the students of Balika Vidyalaya.
The company has also informed that they have rolled-out over one crore specially designated limited-edition milk packets, paying tribute to Dr Kurien for his contribution towards the nation
