MP Kishan Kapoor inspected ongoing development works at Dal Lake

Dharamshala: Kangra Lok Sabha MP Kishan Kapoor on Thursday visited the Dal Lake at Naddi in Dharamshala today and took stock of the ongoing development works there. He instructed the officers to complete its renovation and maintenance in a time-bound manner.

Kishan Kapoor told that Dal Lake has its own special significance with tourism and mythological point of view and every year lakhs of devotees from the country and abroad come to see it. He said that there is immense scope for religious tourism in the state and the state government is emphasizing on further boosting every region by beautifying temples and developing other basic facilities on such tourist sites.

Kapoor instructed departmental officers to get treatment of drain line around the lake. He said that instead of crate work, stone perching should be done in the work of beautification of Dal Lake.

He instructed the authorities to make parking near Dal Lake so that parking facilities can be available to the tourists visiting the beauty of Dal Lake.

Kishan Kapoor said that the government is constantly working towards preserving the cultural heritage of the state and encouraging creative activities. He said that nature has given Himachal Pradesh immense natural beauty, as a result of which lakhs of national and foreign tourists come to the state.

Kapoor said that in view of the immense potential of tourism development in the state, many big projects have been started. Infrastructure facilities are being developed to promote tourism with the assistance of Asian Development Bank. Dal Lake is nothing short of an unforgettable paradise for nature lovers.

On this occasion, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Pradeep Thakur, SDM Dharamshala Dr. Harish Gajju, District Tourism Development Officer Sunaina Sharma, District Forest Officer Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Executive Engineer ADB Shimla Sridhar and officials of various departments were present.
