Kolkata, Jul 30 (GCCurrentAffairs) Mukul Roy’s counsel Kabir Shankar Bose has said they would move a petition to Delhi High Court today against an arrest warrant of the BJP leader issued by the Bankshall Court on July 29 for not appearing in the hearing by the accused in an anti-corruption case of Kolkata Police.
The additional chief judicial magistrate on Monday issued the warrant of arrest to be executed by August 29 against Mr Roy for not appearing during the hearing in the forgery case.
Meanwhile, a team of Kolkata Police, armed with the court warrant, moved to New Delhi where the city police may also quiz the BJP leader today.
The city police had sent notice twice to Mr Roy for questioning and that final date is July 30. But on July 29 in the court hearing since Roy was present the ACJM issued warrant of arrest against the BJP leader.
Roy’s counsel Kabir Shankar Bose said they would move into the Delhi high court since the two things can not happen together at a time.
Mukul Roy said it was a sheer attempt on the part of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee government ‘s Kolkata Police to harass him and said they would take the course of legal action.
