Mutalik will be arrested if he sets foot in Goa to create trouble: CM

In an attempt to dose the raging fire against the controversial Sri Ram Sena organisation and their plans to bring their kind of fundamentalism in Goa, the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has finally broken silence on the issue and to a question asked in the Assembly House, he categorically stated that he would order the arrest of Pramod Mutalik – the leader of Sri Ram Sena – if he sets his foot in the state to create trouble here.

He further added that he has already directed the police to prepare a report on Mutalik so that the district magistrates could take appropriate steps to declare him as unwanted person under provisions of Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

“Don’t worry about him. I will lift him, if he steps in Goa”, he said in his reply to the question put forth by Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai.

The Chief Minister told the House that a ‘ban’ could not be imposed on Mutalik or his organisation by the state government as only the Union Home Ministry is empowered to do so under the Unlawful Activities Act.
