On the occasion of World AIDS Day, National Aids Control Organisation donated blood mobile bus, at a function held to observe World Aids Day at Goa State Museum Hall, Panjim on Wednesday.
The bus costing Rs. 1.35 crore is equipped with the latest blood collection equipment and four donor couches. The main aim to observe the day is to make people aware about the AIDS and increase funding support.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Padwal said, “This is another step forward in the blood donation movement in the state.” Speaking further, Dr. Padwal said: “The vehicle is equipped with all the necessary equipments for safe collection of blood, along with separate registration area for screening and registration of blood donors”.
The bus will be used to travel all over the State particularly in areas where HIV cases are quite high in order to carry out tests for those willing besides also helping in spreading awareness on AIDS.
