nCoV: India sees highest single-day spike of 13,586 cases; tally shoots past 3.8 lakh

New Delhi: With the highest ever single-day spike of 13,586 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, India’s Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic tally mounted to 3,80,532 on Friday.

Fatalities also rose to 336 in the same period.

On a positive note, the number of people recovered from the highly contagious disease crossed two lakhs, registering 2,04,711 cured, discharged or migrated patients with the recovery of 10,386 more people in the past day, according to the government data.

The recovery rate stands at 53.79 per cent, it added.

Fatalities also recorded a low in the last two days. So far, as many as 12,573 people have succumbed to the deadly virus.

However, the nationwide confirmed cases are witnessing a rising, which is a matter of concern.

India has now become the fourth worst-affected nation from the contagion and also the biggest epicentre of the pandemic in Asia, housing 1,63,248 active cases.
