Aurangabad, Maharashtra: Hailing the Mahavikas Agadhi candidates’ performance in the MLC elections, NCP state Spokesperson and senior leader Surjit Singh Khunger on Friday demanded that ballot papers should be used for every election in the country.
Khunger said it was proved that conducting election thorough the ballot paper is fair.
Khunger further said that even foreign countries use ballot papers, instead of EVMs which is fair and right way to elect representatives in the democracy.
He also hailed his party and alliance partners’ candidates win in Aurangabad, Pune and Nagpur Graduate Council elections.
Early Friday morning, NCP candidate Satish Chavan was announced the winner from the Marathwada graduate constituency third time in row by 57,895 votes, defeating his nearest rival BJP’s Shirish Boralkar.
With the win, NCP retained the seat and Chavan made hat-trick by winning 2008, 2014 and 2020 elections in row.
Meanwhile, Mahavikas Aghadi candidate Adv Abhijeet Wanjari also secured Nagpur Graduate constituency Election by margin of 14407 votes.
Congress’ Wanjari garnered 55947 votes, while BJP’s Sandeep Joshi could receive 41540 votes.
