New Delhi: National Woman Commission (NCW) chairperson Rekha Sharma has taken suo motu cognisance of Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik’s comments allegedly threatening actress Kangana Ranaut after the star compared Mumbai to Pakistan occupied Kashmir and demanded his arrest.

The NCW chief said “Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik has threatened Kangana Ranaut and said that she will be beaten, her legs will be broken if she enters in Mumbai. This is highly objectionable statements. I will take suo motu cognisance and write to Mumbai Director General of Police to immediately arrest this person who is dangerous for society.”

Mr Sarnaik had in a tweet in Marathi, demanded that Kangana be booked for sedition for comparing Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
