Patna, May 23 (GCCurrentAffairs) In initial trends, NDA is maintaining lead over eight of nine seats in Bihar, which is almost close to the predictions made in exit polls.
Sources at the state election office said that NDA was leading on eight out of total nine seats of which trends were available. In Jhanjharpur seat, JD (U) candidate Rampreet Mandal was leading over Gulab Yadav of RJD by a margin of 3288 votes. In Gopalganj seat, JD (U) candidate Dr Alok Kumar Suman is leading over Surendra Ram of RJD by a margin of 3105 votes.
Similarly, Gopalji Thakur of BJP is leading over his nearest rival Abdul Bari Siddiqui of RJD by a margin of more than 9000 votes from Darbhanga seat. In Banka, Girdhari Yadav of JD (U) is leading over Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav of RJD by a margin of 1000 votes. Ashok Kumar Yadav of BJP is leading over Independent candidate Dr Shakeel Ahmed by margin of more than 4600 votes from Madhubani seat.
In Gopalganj, Dr Alok Kumar Suman of JD (U) is leading over his nearest rival Surendra Ram of RJD by a margin of more than 3000 votes. High profile candidate and firebrand CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar is trailing behind Giriraj Singh, a union minister and BJP candidate by a margin of 3809 votes from Begusarai seat. Vijay Kumar Manjhi of BJP is leading over former Bihar Chief Minister and HAM candidate Jitan Ram Manjhi by a margin of 4426 votes from Gaya seat.
Exit polls carried out by various agencies had predicted near clean sweep for NDA making assessments its victory on more than 35 seats. The trend available for nine seats, indicated that result could go on line of exit poll predictions to a great extent.
