Maina Curtorim Police got a major breakthrough in the headless body case as it identified the victim to be a resident of Bellary in neighbouring Karnataka State, even though they are yet to recover the severed head of the victim.
It may be recalled that the headless body of a stoutly built man was found near Ramnagiri, Nessai on last Friday. As the hands of the victim were tied, police had suspected that it was a case of murder.
The perpetrators of the crime had severed the head of the victim and also stripped him off all his clothes in a bid to avoid identification of the victim.
However, the police have identified the victim and are now hopeful of nabbing the murderers.
