Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday urged the Union Government to listen to the farmers agitating at Delhi border points and resolve the issue in an amicable manner.
“It is time to stand with our farmers. We urge the Government of India to listen to the protesting farmers and resolve the issue in an amicable manner. The whole of our country needs to come together on this because farmers are the lifeblood of this country,” the CM said in a message.
Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala said “farmers are the backbone of this country. Narendra Modi Government is trying to suppress the peacefully protesting farmers by using brute force, he alleged and said this is despotic.
The Centre should listen to them with an open heart,” Mr Chennithala added.
“Anti farmer, anti labour and anti people policies of Modi Government will ensure that BJP will be wiped out from Kerala after the local body election to be held from December 8.
The attack on secularism by BJP will ensure the dusk of the party,’ the senior Congress leader said.
