New I&B Minister Manish Tewari to give Congress House a skip

Though newly appointed Union Information & Broadcasting Minister has been invited as a state guest to the inauguration ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), has learnt that the senior Congress minister will not be visiting the Congress House which is a mandatory protocol of all senior Congress leaders visiting a state.

Revealing this to a senior general secretary Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, said, “It is indeed disappointing that a senior Congress leader like Manish Tewari cannot find the time to visit the Congress House and speak to the members here in Goa. After all it is a mandatory protocol issued by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), president, Sonia Gandhi. At a time when the mood of the Congressmen in the state is at a low, it would be a good gesture to meet with the members and encourage them”.

He further added that the delay on part of the AICC to even elect the state president is sending mixed signals to party workers, who are slowly losing faith and hope in the functioning of the Congress party, and many of the workers might opt to move to BJP in such eventuality.
