Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday said that overall progress of the new Mandovi bridge being consturcted across River Mandovi near the city was 87 per cent.
In a written reply tabled in the state assembly to a question asked by Congress MLA Ravi Naik, Parrikar, who also holds finance portfolio, said as per the information given by GSIDC (Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation), the overall physical progress of the bridge was around 87 per cent.
“All 465 piles (72 in river and 393 on land) are completed. All 94 pile caps (4 in river and 90 on land) are completed. 91 piers out of 94 are cast for the viaduct portion on the Northern side and Southern portion. 751 bridge segments out of 841 have been cast and 593 have been erected including cable stayed portion. Total 24 spans out of 28 spans of 4 lane portion have been erected on North side. All 88 stay cables erection are completed. Casting of bridge spans (cast
in situ) portion from RA01 to 07, P38- 39, P39-40, P40-41, P41-P42, P42- P43 are completed. RA10 to RA12 span staging works in progress. Erection of precast bridge segments from RB3 to RB04 and RB6 to RB07 on Panaji side (under slung method) at KTC Circle/Heera Petrol Pump is in progress,” he said.
“Preparation works for cast in situ back spans, P28-P29, P32-33 is in progress (Malim Jetty & Panjim Jetty). Preparation works for cast in situ 4 lane spans, P33-P34, P35-P36 (above DB Marg) is in progress. Piles, pile caps, friction slab for approach ramps are in progress,” he said.
