Thane: Around 19 persons are still missing and frantic search was on as ill-fated building which was collapsed at Mahad in neighbouring Raigad district on Monday, the district Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Thane Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde, along with dozen of staff of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), has rushed to Mahad this morning (Tuesday) to oversee the rescue and relief operations where a six storied building crashed last evening.
A massive rescue and relief operations has been undertaken at the crash site by the three teams of the NDRF and other teams in the district, Sagar Pathak chief of DDMC said.
A total eight were pulled out from the debris one died and four others have been admitted to the local government hospital and are being treated, he said.
Meanwhile, the Mahad town police on Tuesday registered criminal case against five persons the police station SHO told this correspondent.
The police said that offenses under section 304A, 337 and 338 rw 34 of the IPC had been registered against the accused, including the owner of the building and others.
No arrest has been made so far
