Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday said that there was no case reported related to CDM Smith bribery scam which allegedly involved officials of the Goa Government.
In a written reply in response to a question tabled by Congress MLA Aleixo Lourenco, the Chief Minister said,”Sir, there is no such case reported at any of the police stations in the state of Goa.”
He was sought the details of the CDM Smith bribery scam which involved officials of the Goa Government and the status of the inquiry which was to be conducted by the Chief Secretary.
The scam was discovered after the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in July last year had ordered an inquiry into the allegation that CDM Smith paid $ 1.18 million as a bribe to officials to get contracts.
After the revealation, Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Sudin Dhavalikar had said that he would order a probe into the issue.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa also had filed a complaint with the Goa Police but no First Information Report (FIR) was registered.
