No Political Connotation: BJP
The Bharatiya Janata Party was very cautious while reacting to the Judicial Magistrate First Class’ order sentencing Micky Pacheco to one year’s imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 5,000/- for assaulting a government servant.
“The court has pronounced its order based on the evidence placed before it,” said BJP spokesman Rajendra Arlekar while asserting that there should be no political connotation to the order.
“Micky has probably paid for what he has done and he has the option to appeal against the order if aggrieved by,” he said while refusing to comment on whether it was appropriate for a person who assaults a public servant to be a representative of the public.
