No sale of Agricultural Land other than for Agricultural purpose: CM

The Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar replying to a question raised by the Congress Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho on ‘Special Status for Goa’ stated that the government is working on legislation which is to be placed before the House shortly; the legislation is to ensure that Agricultural land across the state are protected from sale for non-agricultural purposes.

In fact no agricultural land will be allowed to be sold to any buyer other than for an agricultural purpose, expressed Parrikar.

The government is currently in the process of amending a legislation in the Land Revenue Code, which is aimed at protecting agricultural land.
