Now, Pratima rakes up Dabolim Airport Re-Notification Demand

The agitation for the re-notification of the Dabolim Airport parking land has now found yet another voice of partial support in Goa Pradesh Youth Congress, president, Pratima Coutinho who claims to want the parking land re-notified but refrains from talking about the scam perpetrated by the former Congress government.

This at a time when Congress Curtorim MLA and spokesperson Alexio Reginald Lourenco has admitted that Congress ministers were responsible for the scam surrounding the de-notification of the airport parking land.

Speaking at a Youth Congress Convention in Porvorim, Coutinho opined that it is important that the Dabolim Airport issue be resolved as soon as possible in the interest of the people of Goa; and that the land should be re-notified.

When questioned about the reason behind raising the issue at this point of time and not during the Congress regime, Coutinho expressed, “That she was not officially the spokesperson of the Congress party. It is not accepted in the Congress party protocol to talk without permission or else senior leaders would be upset.”

Probed further on what has changed now, she is not Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) spokesperson; she is still Youth President and whether she took permission to speak; she retorted saying, “It was not a press conference but a meeting of the Youth Congress where she raised the point of re-notification of Dabolim Airport Land.”

When questioned further, whether she was drumming up support from other Youth Congress members to re-notify the said land, Coutinho chose not to reply.

The Dabolim Airport Parking Land Re-Notification agitation has been spearheaded by former Congress General Secretary and now Independent MLA from Fatorda Vijai Sardesai and Curtorim MLA Alexio Reginald Lourenco. Interestingly, none of the above during the Congress regime raised objections to the de-notification, including the Youth President Pratima Coutinho.
