NSA Implemented In Goa

In the wake of increasing criminal activities in the State,  the government on Thursday put into force National Security Act (NSA) which will provide District Collectors powers to implement strict law to curb the anti social elements in the state.

Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava stated that this will give powers to the Collectors to act strongly against the anti-social elements in the state.

Under NSA, three member advisory board headed by former High Court justice R M Khandeparkar and two High Court advocates — Upendra R Timble and Joaquim Godinho has already been formed. And if this board approves, the detention of the criminals arrested under the law could continue for a year without trial.
