Opposition Leaders stall Goa Assembly Session

Reacting to the undemocratic postponement of the Panjim Corporation Elections in which Congress-led panel headed by Atanasio (Babush) Monseratte was expected to win, Congress Opposition leader stalled Goa Assembly proceedings during Question Hour demanding that CCP elections are conducted today.

Rushing to well of the House Congress leaders led by the Opposition Leader Pratapsingh Rane and CLP speaker Alexio Reginald Lourenco demanded that the Speaker ensure that the BJP government functions in democratic manner and not manipulate CCP elections or use its government powers to postpone the elections.

Goa Assembly Speaker Rajendra Arlekar adjourned the question hour session and demanded that the Opposition behave in a democratic manner fitting their role as elected representatives of the people and not confuse the functioning of the Assembly with CCP elections.
