Convenor of Goa Bachao Abhiyan, Sabina Martins while pleading for time to study the Regional Plans for Pernem and Canacona to comment on them, pointed out that their two main demands have not been addressed.
She pointed out that the GBA had asked for the guidelines used to consider the various suggestions and recommendations be made public, which has not been done by the authorities while releasing the plan for the two Talukas.
More important, she regretted that the demand to keep the plans open for 30 days before notifying, has also not been considered by the government. “They have just gone and notified the plans thereby denying people the opportunity to correct any mistakes or wrongdoings in it,” she said.
Further, she said the absence of VP III category needs to be studied in more detail as the Floor Area Ratio now recommended in the two category of villages appears a little complicated.
