The People Against Atrocities and Injustice (PAAI) formed by a group of civil-society activists who got together to raise the issue of the failure of the Goa government and its police to nab the rapist of seven-year old girl at the Deepvihar School in Vasco belonging to the Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) will be having its first public meeting at Vasco on April 15, 2013.
The meeting has been called to create awareness of the Vasco rape incident and the failure on part of the Goa police to catch the rapist or even arrested the head-mistress, class teacher or head-clerk as ordered by the Children’s Court for the destruction of evidence post the rape of the child inside the school toilet.
The advocate Aires Rodrigues representing the family has alleged that the rapist is Monty M Sanchez – a nephew of the head-mistress who is know residing in Dubai. A fact that the child has also corroborated through a video made by friends of the family, in which the girl has identified Monty as the rapist and states that she has also seen him inside the head-mistress Sharlet Furtado’s cabin. Interestingly the young rape survivor also has identified that son of the head-mistress Ashville Furtado was with Monty on January 10th in the school, as she met Monty and Ashville together in school.
