Porvorim: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday morning attended his office at Secretariat during the first day of the year, after a gap of almost four months.
The Chief Minister on Tuesday morning around 10.45 a.m. reached his office at Secretariat where he was welcomed by hundreds of BJP workers who had gathered outside the complex.
The CM was given formal welcome by BJP MLAs including Speaker of Legislative Assembly Pramod Sawant, ministers Mauvin Godinho, Milind Naik, Nilesh Cabral and former MLA Kiran Kandolkar.
BJP State General secretary Satish Dhond was also present to greet the CM when he arrived at Secretariat.
Sources stated that Parrikar held meeting with the officials of Personnel Department to review existing vacancies and other issues like promotions and transfers which needs to be taken on urgent basis.
Parrikar also met his office staff.
The Chief Minister was not able to attend the office for almost four months now due to his ailment. He has been treated at various hospitals including private facilities in Mumbai, the USA and AIIMS.
Parrikar had recently inspected the work on new bridges over Mandovi and Zuari Rivers near Panaji.
He had also met Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu last week to discuss about the various developmental works and centre’s plans to make Goa as destination for industrial investment.
