Parrikar Talks, But Fails to Walk!

Roaring voraciously like a lion about to attack its preys, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has now added Subash Shirodkar and Joaquim Alemao to the list of Congressmen responsible for the illegal mining scam in Goa, after initially naming two former Chief Ministers Pratapsingh Rane and Digambar Kamat. However, while the roars are being heard by the people of the state, many are wondering if the lion has any teeth to actually bite.

Initially the Chief Minister had stated that within fifteen days of the Shah Commission report, FIRs would be filed against Kamat and Rane. This on account of the Ganesh Festival was to happen on or before October 10. But even now at the fag end of the month of October, the CM and his government has not filed an FIR as stated. Instead it chose to file an FIR against an alleged illegal mining accused Jitendra Deshprabhu (a Congress spokesperson); which is being seen as a political vendetta by many in the political or social circle.

Many of Parrikar’s supporters across party lines are surprised at the political maneuvering of the CM, since, even after knowing fully-well the involvement of the former Minister for Mines, Kamat in the illegal mining scam of Goa, he has yet to file any charges against his former BJP colleague. Clearly, indicating a understanding between both Parrikar and Kamat.
