Panaji, Jun 19 (GCCurrentAffairs) Residents of Panaji, capital city of Goa, woke up to a cool and pleasant morning thanks to light rains which lashed the city as well as some parts of the state on Wednesday.
Rains occurred on Tuesday as well. According to Indian Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain or thundershowers occurred at most places over the state.
There was no large change in maximum temperature and minimum over North Goa and South Goa district of the state. Maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal over North Goa and South Goa district of the state and minimum temperatures were normal over North Goa and South Goa district of the state. The highest maximum temperature of 34°C was recorded at Marmugao and panaji and the lowest minimum temperature of 26°C was recorded at Marmugao and panaji.
While Mapusa had received 2 two cm of rainfall, Pernem and Valpoi had received one cm of rainfall each.
However, local Weather Office has forecast that heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over North Goa and South Goa districts of the state in coming few days.
