New Delhi, May 24 (GCCurrentAffairs) BJP veteran Murli Manohar Joshi, who was said to have been sulking after being denied ticket from Kanpur, on Friday said he has only one expectation that the party should deliver.
“I have only one expectation that the party should deliver,” Dr Joshi told reporters minutes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah called on him at his residence and sought his blessings prior to the process of formation of the new government.
The Prime Minister and Mr Shah also met patriarch L K Advani here.
“Party must deliver….as best as possible and whatever contribution any party worker can make must be made use of,” said Dr Joshi, who was chairman of the Lok Sabha’s Estimates Committee in the outgoing 16th Lok Sabha for sometime.
On the leaders calling on him, he said, “This was only part of party’s Parampara (tradition)”.
“We always meet seniors either in the BJP or in the extended family (Sanghparivar) and seek their good wishes and blessings,” he said.
Asked what he will do now – as he has not contested elections – Dr Joshi said – “I will continue to do what I have been doing. What will party do will be decided by Prime Minister and BJP president”.
Dr Joshi said, “hum logon ne beej boya tha (We had sown the seed)” and nurtured it. Now the tree has begin to bear fruits.
“My only point is that the tree should give more and more juicy and tasty fruits and that benefits should reach maximum number of people,” he said.
