Panjim: A 68-year old patient quarantined due to suspected COVID-19 symptoms in Goa died early this morning.
The Goa government has not officially confirmed the whether the patient was COVID-19 positive case as they awaiting the test result to confirm it was a COVID-19 positive case.
In a tweet on social media platform, State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said,”68-year old female patient complaint of respiratory distress, diagnosed with COPD infective exacerbation, accordingly shifted to isolation ward; expired 29/03/20 at 3 am.”
He further stated, “However, lab results of the samples are awaited. She has no travel history outside Goa,” he said.
On Saturday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had said that the health condition of three coronavirus positive patients who were in isolation was fine.
