Pentair to cooperate fully in the adjudication case at Labour Court

Panjim: Pentair is committed to providing its employees with competitive wages and benefits and to delivering value for its customers. Our Goa Plant has been in operation since in 1997. We have approximately 515 employees at the plant situated at the Verna Industrial Estate. The facility is a 100 percent export oriented unit, manufacturing products pursuant to recognized National / International Standards.

At the Goa plant, we have two unions: Pentair Workers Internal Union and Pentair Employees Union. Since 21st June 2018, Pentair has been operating under a “Memorandum of Understanding” with the employees who are members of the Pentair Employees Union, as we work to achieve a mutually agreed upon settlement.

Some of our employees who are members of the Pentair Employees Union elected to participate in a work stoppage beginning 20th February 2020.  In order to prevent further disruption and ensure the safety of all other employees working in the plant, Pentair made the decision to not allow the Pentair Employees Union members, about 113 in numbers, to enter the facility effective 24th February 2020, until they agreed to sign an individual declaration of good work and resume work.

As Pentair seeks to reach a mutually agreed upon settlement, the site continues to manufacture our solutions that help deliver cleaner, safer water to customers around the world. We have worked to ensure that the work stoppage will have a minimal impact on our Goa facility, customers, business partners and the surrounding community.

It is our goal to bring a resolution to this matter. Pentair has extended numerous communications to the members of Pentair Employees Union requesting the Union employees to return to work. The only requirement is that they sign a written declaration of good work before resuming their duties.

Owing to the absence of an amicable settlement with the Union, the State Government referred the matter to the Industrial Tribunal / Labour Court for adjudication on 19th June 2020. Pentair intends to cooperate fully in this process with the goal of achieving a fair settlement.
