Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu on Monday said that efforts were being made to develop Goa as a national capital for startups.
Addressing a press conference at Dabolim International Airport at Vasco in South Goa, he said, “We have decided to observe April 26 as innovation day in Goa. We will call World Bank, International Finance Corporation and global venture capitalists to Goa and have round table discussion on how we can nurture the ecosystem for the startups in the country. Our idea is that Goa should be national capital for startups.”
“Invest India has been directed to promote Goa globally for investment. Invest India has been ranked one of the top investment facilitation centre in the world. We are working on multi-pronged ideas. In the month of November we will have global event on start ups where in all startup companies in the world will be invited and I am happy to announce that Goa Government is willing to partner with it. It will be annual event,” he said.
